Dye Your Hair Naturally: These Recipes Will Make Your Hair Perfect

More than half the women in the world dye their hair, and they usually use store-bought chemical hair dyes. However, these chemicals are not safe for your hair or helath. They are full of chemicals and toxins which have a negative effect on our health. Luckily, there are many natural hair dyes which work just as well without the negative side-effects.

Here are the best natural hair dyes:

Walnut shells

Walnuts shells work best for brown hair. Just crush a handful and boil them in a bit of water, then leave the liquid to cool down before using it on your hair. Leave it to work for an hour, then wash your head with water. If you’d like an even more intense brown shade, boil the liquid until a quarter remains then use it on your hair.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is great for highlights – just squeeze a few lemons and apply the juice on your hair, then comb it through nicely and leave it to work for a couple of hours. Make sure you dry your hair naturally in the sun. If you’d like a lighter shade, mix some lemon juice with chamomile tea. Repeat the process regularly to achieve your desired color.

There are different herbs which can dye your hair in different colors. For red hair, you can use hibiscus, marigold, rosehips or calendula. Just boil the herbs in water, then apply the liquid on your hair and leave it to work for 60 minutes.

If you want to become a brunette, you should use rosemary, sage or nettle. For blonde hair, you can use sunflower petals, chamomile, saffron or marigold. The procedure is the same – boil the herbs in water then apply the liquid on your head.

Coffee grounds are great a natural hair dye and will make your hair chocolate. Brew your favorite cup of coffee and let it cool down, then mix a few tablespoons of it with some coffee grounds and 2 cups of your favorite conditioner. Apply the coffee mixture on your hair, then leave the coffee to work for 30 minutes before rinsing with water.

Tea works best for intensifying your natural hair color. Black tea can give you a darker shade, while chamomile works best for blondes. The process is simple – brew the desired tea then use it on your hair once it cools down. Let the tea work for an hour and repeat the process regularly until you get the desired shade.

Carrot and beet juice

When mixed together, beet and carrot juice will give a nice red tint to your hair. Apply the mixture on your hair and let it work its magic for an hour, then rinse with water and ACV to fix it.

Henna has been used as a natural hair dye for centuries. Mix some henna powder with chamomile tea and add a bit of vinegar, then use the henna on your hair and let it work for a couple of hours with a shower cap on. Rinse with water in the end and repeat the process until you reach the desired shade.
